April’s Theme:

Cookout! - It’s Worth the Wait!

Waiting is a part of life. Thankfully, we don’t have to wait on our own. Through the Holy Spirit, God can help us experience the patience we need to wait well. After all, God is patient with us. God is in control and knows what’s best for us. Even though God’s people had been waiting for years for the promised Savior, at just the right time, God sent Jesus. Because we’re created in God’s image, we can reflect God’s patience in our lives. We can be patient when we remember what God has done. We can lean on God’s Holy Spirit to give us the strength we need to trust God and show patience with the difficult circumstances in our lives.

Patience is waiting until later for what you want now.

Parenting Resources

We have compiled some helpful resources that parents can use. Many of them are from Orange which is our amazing ministry partner who creates much of our Sunday kids and youth curriculum.

Mental Health issues are on the rise, especially with kids and teens. SEEN - Healing despair and anxiety in kids and teens through the power of connection - is a book put out thru our partners at Orange. Written by Will Hutcherson and Chine Williams, PH.D. We have two copies at the church so get connected with Jim Staniels if you want to read one. Its great info and practices that will help hurting kids even if they are not your kids. If it feels weird borrowing from us, you can get a copy or even a digital copy at the Orange Store.

Anxiety Conversation guides help give parents an age appropriate tool to talk with their kids about the anxiety they feel and see around them.

Connecting at Home

Now your family has a way to connect to the same topics and themes that your kids are learning about on Sunday during the week.

If you are looking for another way to keep up on what is going on we send out monthly emails and reminder emails before certain events. If you want to get on our email list please just let Jim Staniels know. Please add name(s) and the grade(s) of your student(s) on the email so we can get you in the right grouping!
