We will host our missionary family who serves in South Asia on Sunday, June 28th. They will join us for a Mission Moment during our worship service and be our special guests at a lunch in Runquist Hall following the service. Lunch will be hosted by the Mission Team and all are invited. If attending the lunch, please sign up outside the church office.

Hamburgers, hot dogs, condiments, and paper goods will be provided, and we’re asking you to bring all the things needed to complete the meal. After the barbecue, if we can get some volunteers, we’ll have homemade ice cream (so please volunteer!). We’ll have sign-ups on Sunday, June 14th, 21st, and 28th outside the Sanctuary. Please let us know first if you plan to attend so that we can purchase enough hamburgers and hot dogs, and second, choose one or two things you can contribute. Your family and friends are all cordially invited.

We are offering a valuable one-hour seminar on preparing for the time when one person in a partnership may be living alone. Topics will include important documents, wills and trusts, financial and tax considerations, managing passwords, end-of-life conversations, and other informative resources. This free workshop will be led by Connie Van Berkel, who is passionate about this subject and has firsthand experience with how vital it is to plan ahead. What do you know about opioids, marijuana, and vaping? Do you know enough to keep your loved ones safe? Do you know what drugs do to minds and bodies? The GKI Fellowship and Celtic Cross Church will be hosting a seminar on this important topic on Sunday, March 15th following our 10:30 am service. The training will take place from 11:30 am-1:30 pm and includes lunch. This workshop is free for all attendees.
Training will be provided by Omni Youth Programs of Sacramento County, which is recognized by the California Department of Health Services for delivering effective substance abuse training (https://www.omniyouth.net/). Throughout the Lenten season, you are continuously invited to write down your confession prayers and place them in the Confession Box in the Narthex to be nailed to the cross. On Good Friday at noon, all are invited to the church parking lot where we will burn the confessions.
Beginning Sunday, February 15th, the 10:30 am Modern service will be combined with the GKI Indonesian Fellowship every third Sunday of the month. A potluck for all will follow.
